When weary with the ills of life

When weary with the ills of life,
Its burdens and its cares,
There is a balm, a sacred joy,
‘Tis found alone in prayer.

When tempted by the power of sin,
That would the soul ensnare,
There is a sure, a safe retreat,
‘Tis found alone in prayer.

There’s grace to help in time of need,
A full supply is there,
Go find it at the Master’s feet,
In humble, heartfelt prayer.

When doubts arise and faith is weak,
And crosses hard to bear,
Then seek the Father at His throne,
And find relief in prayer.
