August 19
Tho’ the skies may low’r above me,
And the day be dark and drear;
Tho’ my soul is sore discouraged-
Almost overwhelmed with fear,
When I read the Father’s promise:
“I, the Lord, am always near,”
Then the sunshine comes breaking thro’ the clouds.
Clouds only for a moment,
Sunshine steadfast is, and sure,
And the love that never faileth
Keeps us sheltered and secure;
If we wait in trusting patience,
And the test of faith endure,
Then the sunshine comes breaking thro’ the clouds.
Are you ready to receive it?
Are your windows open wide?
God’s bright sun is always shining,
And His promises abide!
If we trust amidst the tempest,
While beneath His wings we hide,
Then the sunshine comes breaking thro’ the clouds.
Chorus
Then the sunshine comes breaking thro’ the clouds,
Then the sunshine comes breaking thro’ the clouds;
Tho’ the skies be dark above,
When we trust the Father’s love,
Then the sunshine comes breaking thro’ the clouds.
Mrs. C. D. Martin
