“Must I go, and empty-handed,”

“Must I go, and empty-handed,”
Thus my dear Redeemer meet?
Not one day of service give Him,
Lay no trophy at His feet?

Not at death I shrink or falter,
For my Savior saves me now;
But to meet Him empty-handed,
Tho’t of that now clouds my brow.

Oh, the years of sinning wasted,
Could I but recall them now,
I would give them to my Savior,
To His will I’d gladly bow.

Oh, ye saints, arouse, be earnest,
Up and work while yet ’tis day,
Ere the night of death o’ertakes thee,
Strive for souls while still you may.

Refrain
“Must I go, and empty-handed,”
Must I meet my Savior so?
Not one soul with which to greet Him,
Must I empty-handed go?

’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus

’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know “Thus saith the Lord.”

Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood.

Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

I’m so glad I learn’d to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.

would serve Thee, blessed Jesus

In the vineyard of the Master
Is there any work for me?
Lord, accept my grateful service,
I would be of use to Thee.

I would serve Thee, blessed Jesus,
At Thy feet I fain would be,
Humbly learning wisdom’s lesson,-
I would be of use to Thee.

Winning souls for Thy dear kingdom;
Undeserving tho’ I be,
Let me ever be found faithful,
I would be of use to Thee.

O the joy of such a service,-
Soon my Master’s face I’ll see;
Till Thou call’st me, blessed Jesus,
I would be of use to Thee.

Chorus

I would be of use to Thee,
I would be of use to Thee;
Lord, accept my grateful service,
I would be of use to Thee.

Would you live for Jesus, and be always pure and good

Would you live for Jesus, and be always pure and good?
Would you walk with Him within the narrow road?
Would you have Him bear your burden, carry all your load?
Let Him have His way with thee.

Would you have Him make you free, and follow at His call?
Would you know the peace that comes by giving all?
Would you have Him save you, so that you need never fall?
Let Him have His way with thee.

Would you in His kingdom find a place of constant rest?
Would you prove Him true each providential test?
Would you in His service labor always at your best?
Let Him have His way with thee.

Chorus
His pow’r can make you what you ought to be;
His blood can cleanse your heart and make you free;
His love can fill your soul, and you will see
’Twas best for Him to have His way with thee.

Do you try to tell the story

Do you try to tell the story,
Of the Savior’s precious love?
Are you hungering and thirsting
Evermore your love to prove?

Are you seeking out the lost ones
Whom the Savior died to win?
Are you showing them the fountain
That can wash away all sin?

Have you made a consecration
Of your time and earthly store?
If your all is on the altar,
Then the Master asks no more.

Chorus
Be a shining light for Jesus!
Speak of Him where’er you go;
Be a witness of the Master
That His love the world may learn to know.
